President

Executive Summary

International Business Association (IBA) has had a successful academic year in 2022-2023, with a focus on growth and development of its board members. Being comprised of first-time board members, the past two boards have achieved record-breaking goals and brought value to all students at CSULB, regardless of major or class. IBA has welcomed students from various colleges, including Engineering, Business, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Liberal Arts, among others. The organization acknowledges the support of all students and student organizations in rebuilding student engagement within ABSOC and CSULB.

IBA highlights we achieved throughout the academic year:

  • Hosted over 20 guest speakers from different companies and industries to share their knowledge and expertise with IBA members, providing valuable insights into the world of business.
  • Collaborated with multiple student organizations within and outside the College of Business, organizing social and professional events to build connections and foster a sense of community among students.
  • Offered multiple internship and scholarship opportunities to IBA members each week, providing them with valuable resources to develop their professional skills and advance their careers.
  • Successfully brought back the annual Consulate Series from 2018, which features engaging and informative talks by Consul General Kenko Sone and
  • Launched a new annual event in partnership with the Anna Ngai Alumni Center, providing opportunities for IBA members to network with alumni and gain valuable insights into their respective fields.
  • Established a former IBA Alumni Panel, bringing together former IBA members to share their experiences and provide guidance and mentorship to current members.

The IBA team's immense efforts made these achievements possible, and the organization hopes to continue moving forward and leading future board members in their journey to create a new family. The IBA's continued success depends on the persistence and growth of its board members. The organization believes that it was able to expose, explore, and enrich each other in the professional world and thanks every individual who has joined IBA as a member or part of the board for their continued support.

Executive Guide

During my terms as President, navigating the challenges brought on by the pandemic presented a significant hurdle, and I found myself struggling with a lack of guidance and I had little information as my google drive given to me was close to empty. Recognizing the need for a more structured approach, I made a personal commitment that goes beyond my presidency.

In response to the difficulties faced during my term, I resolved to establish a comprehensive guide for future leaders. My aim is to provide them with the tools and insights needed to navigate uncertainties, fostering growth, and ensuring a thorough understanding of their duties. My aspiration is that this guide will serve as a valuable resource, empowering future leaders to overcome challenges and become more effective in their roles.
